Business Studies

About our subject:

The Business Studies Department strives to get our students excited and enthused about the study of business. Students are provided with opportunities and experiences that we hope will prepare them for further study or indeed assist them in joining the workforce.

The study of business often involves visits from guest speakers and visits to local businesses. We promote in our students an entrepreneurial spirit and emphasise the central role of business in developing communities.

In the wider educational context, we promote the core skills of literacy, numeracy, problem solving, ICT and people skills that are so highly valued within the world of business. At the same time, we emphasise the importance of students achieving their best possible outcomes in assessment grades to enable progression to higher levels of study.
