KS4

Key Stage 4:

The Art Department delivers a successful course at KS4, which builds upon the students’ experiences in KS3.

Students begin the course through the creation of an Experimental Portfolio, which allows them to develop their skills and understanding of Art and Design through the use of a variety of wet and dry media.

These skills are then applied to their own project work in the form of a Visual Arts Commission. Students are encouraged to research their project and develop their ideas through a series of drawings, paintings and mixed media experiments. In order to resolve their project, they have to produce a final piece, which can take the form of a drawing, painting, mixed media piece, fine art textiles, 2D design, fashion item or ceramic piece.
